- Summary: A huge 133 mile loop hike around the Iveragh Peninsula that starts in Killarney and winds through some of the most isolated and dramatic countryside in Ireland. This is big mountain territory, the path stays quite low but still allows for epic views! Can be broken down into smaller day hikes!
The Kerry Way is a circular 133 mile long distance walk located in South West Ireland (County Kerry) on the Iveragh Peninsula.
The trail winds through some spectacular and diverse landscapes from huge golden beaches, mountain passes and rugged dramatic coastline, as well as providing many sites of historic and archaeological significance.
Starting and finishing from the busy tourist town of Killarney.
The beauty of this trail is you can attempt in one long adventure or break it down into sections depending on your timescale. Either way its just a great place to explore. The peninsula is famous for its mountain ranges, being the highest peaks in Ireland. An attempt for Carrauntoohill (1038m) definitely needs to be made if the legs allow for it at the end of the adventure!
